Partial Disbursement

Loan performer allows a user to disburse part of a loan that was approved. This is called partial. It follows the same process of loan disbursement except that at the time of disbursement, the user for some reason or another selects not to disburse the whole amount then disburse the balance at a later date.

How to partially disburse a loan

To partially disburse a loan go to Loans/Disbursement and the following dialog is displayed:

• Loan number: Enter a loan number for the loan that you want to disburse, e.g., "KA/0000138" or click on the Choose command button to select it from the list that is displayed.  

• Click on the Next command button to continue. 
• The screen like one below is displayed:

• Loan Amount to Disburse: By default, the amount here is the full amount applied for at Loan Application e.g "4,000,000" You can change it if you are making partial disbursement (less money than what was applied for), but it can never be more than the application amount.

• Disbursement date: Enter the date when the disbursement is made. Loan Performer checks and makes sure that the date you have entered is not before the date of loan approval/payment of loan commission. In the screen above disbursement date is 30/04/2016.
• Voucher: Enter here the payment voucher number e.g. "123456". This field can be made compulsory at the menu System/Configuration/Register Part 2. If  made compulsory, this box will bear a yellow colour.
• Stationery Fee/Loan Commission: If you charge any fees at disbursement, enter the amounts here. These amounts can be predefined/made compulsory at the menu System->Configuration->Loan Product Settings (page "Fees"). The fees will be deducted from the loan amount being disbursed.
• Balance Disbursed: The loan amount to disburse minus the fees and commissions is displayed here. In the screen above, the amount is "3,990,000 i.e. 4,000,000 - 10,000" (Commission).
• Loan Cycle: loan cycle is updated automatically, in accordance with client's loan history. However when it is a partial disbursement the subsequent disbursement takes on the same cycle number.

• At the subsequent disbursement the following message and screen appear.

• Disbursed so far: This denotes the previously disbursed loan amount.
• Loan Amount to Disburse: By default this is the available loan balance after the previous loan disbursement has been deducted which is 4,000,000 - 2,100,000 =1,900,000

• Balance Disbursed: The loan amount to disburse minus the fees and commissions if any is displayed here. If there are no fees and commissions like in the above example, then the whole loan amount to disburse will be reflected here. i.e. 1,900,000
• The remaining process and procedure is the same as it is in normal General Loan Disbursements
